This week, campus faculty and IT staff will start receiving emails to register for and complete the 2021 Cybersecurity Awareness Training. The training will be provided by a trusted third party, Drip7. The email you receive will be sent from ‘email@example.com’, and will contain your primary UW-Madison email address, a temporary password, and a link to access the training website. Log into the training site with these credentials. The first time you log in, you will need to change your password on the training site. Please do not use your UW-Madison NetID password on this or any other website or system (LastPass is an excellent tool for managing your accounts and passwords).
The training offers benefits that will aid in our goals of reducing risk and addressing compliance requirements from the UW System. In addition, investing 30 minutes of your time in this type of training will:
- Enhance your ability to recognize scams
that arrive via email, text s, social media, or telephone calls.
- Provide guidance on how to organize your usernames and passwords.
- Increase your knowledge of cybersecurity concepts that can help strengthen your projects.
- Aid in compliance with research grants that require annual cybersecurity training.
The training window will run until June 30, 2021. You may complete the training modules in one session, or spread the training out over multiple days or weeks.
